Depending on whether your abstract is a Research based abstract or a Case Report, the body follows the following format.

Research Base: Abstract content should not exceed 350 words including the title but excluding keywords.

Case Report: The abstract content should not exceed 150 words, including the title but excluding keywords.

Do not include reference numbers.

4

Font Type: Times New Roman, Font size: 12.

5

Spacing and Alignment: Single spacing and justified fields.

Graphs, tables, images, or references should not be included in the abstract.

File submitted must be in word document not more than 2.5MB.

Use abbreviations sparingly and introduce the abbreviation at first use with parentheses.

If one of the authors is Malaysian, provide a Bahasa Malaysia translation of the manuscript title, abstract, and keywords after the English abstract. MyJO supplies a Bahasa Malaysia translation for submissions authored by non-Malaysian authors.

Abstract Authorship & Limitation

The abstract submitter must be the presenter during onsite.

The Submitting Author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submitting.

Upon submission, the submitting author confirms that the abstract has been proofread and all information is correct.

The abstract cannot be modified or corrected after submission.

5

Accepted abstract will be communicated through email.

Abstract Template

Please use the abstract template for spacing and organization of subsections. Abstract(s) that does not adhere to the abstract template will not be accepted for review.

Abstract template(s) can be downloaded from the conference website.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

The Abstract Title must be concise and avoid using abbreviations in the title.

Abstract(s) submitted must be original and NO encore abstracts are allowed.

Submissions should be submitted electronically via the conference website only. Abstracts submitted by fax, email or paper copy will NOT be considered.

DO NOT include the names of any affiliated institutions, hospitals, eye centres, or names of any individuals involved in the study. Failure to comply will result in the abstract being rejected.

Changes will not be entertained once the abstract has been submitted.

Once the abstract submission has been successful, a confirmation email will be sent to you. Please ensure your email address is correct.

All presenting authors must complete their registration with payment for the conference and prepare the presentation.

Do note that Selected Abstracts will be published in Malaysian Journal of Ophthalmology (MyJO) unless informed by the applicant that he/she does not want the abstract to be publish.

All materials accepted for publication in MyJO will become the permanent property of the Journal. The journal allows readers to read, download, copy, print, search and distribute the published articles, provided the authors are property acknowledged and cited.

Applicants may choose not to have that abstract published in the supplementary issue of MyJO.

During online submission of abstracts, you will be given the opportunity to indicate if you wish for this submission to be published or not published in the supplementary issue of MyJO.

Abstracts which have excerpted content from previous published articles or published abstracts must be declared upon submission and cannot be published in MyJO. This is to ensure that there will not be any copyright infringement issues or accusations of plagiarism. Please note that in the event of any issues arising from these abstracts including legal issues, the applicant is solely responsible.

The organisers of this event take no responsibility for any published abstracts submitted. Any issues or errors arising from the abstracts are solely the responsibility of the authors. Abstract Review

All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Review Committee. The reviewing process is confidential, and the decision is final. The Review Committee reserves the rights to:

Select the abstracts relevant to the category.

Decide on the final format of presentation which is either Oral or E-Poster Presentation.

Edit the abstract if it has significant spelling and grammatical mistakes.
