Professor Dr Tajunisah Begam Binti Mohamed Iqbal has served as an academic member of University of Malaya in the field of Ophthalmology since the year 2000. She obtained her Masters in Ophthalmology degree followed by FRCS Glasgow and International Council of Ophthalmology and did further clinical attachments in uveitis and retina diseases in Royal Perth Hospital and Lion's Eye Center in Perth, Australia. Her areas of expertise include uveitis, ocular infections as well as diabetic eye diseases and AMD. She is a member of the International Ocular Inflammation Society, International Retina Foundation and Malaysian Ophthalmological Society. She has vast publications on Uveitis related eye diseases, pro-inflammatory markers and gene polymorphism in Malaysian patients in peer-reviewed journals such as British Journal of Ophthalmology, Lancet, Diabetes and its Complications and International Journal of Ophthalmology amongst others. She is passionate about the management of uveitis patients and their complications in the Malaysian society.
